Chris Paul found a perfect fit with the Rockets
Chris Paul put on a career performance to eliminate the Jazz and advance to the first conference finals of his career and finally shed the label as a playoff choker. Even though many fans make endless excuses for Russell Westbrook, they have been just as quick to condemn CP3 throughout his career.
Colin has always thought Paul is a great player, and his team’s postseason failures have been unfairly laid at his feet. Paul’s ultimate decision to take advantage of the opportunity to join James Harden in Houston has been the best decision of his career, and is another case of player’s improving their career arcs through mobility.
LeBron’s longevity as impressive as MJ’s perfect Finals record
For years, many argued that Joe Montana was the greatest quarterback of all-time over Tom Brady because of his perfect 4-0 Super Bowl record. Eventually Brady’s claim as the G.O.A.T became undeniable because he has remained productive for a much longer period of time, even with an imperfect Super Bowl record.
In the NBA, the same argument is made when comparing MJ to LeBron. Jordan’s 6-0 Finals record is viewed as unassailable, but Colin thinks the case for LeBron will continue to gain strength because by the end of his career he will blow MJ away in nearly every comparable statistical category. Another title wouldn’t hurt either.
