Cam couldn’t handle the chaos Dak is dealing with in Dallas
The Cowboys have played the entire season with constant looming distractions. From Zeke Elliott’s on-again-off-again suspension to Jerry Jones battle with Roger Goodell and the NFL, there has been no shortage of chaos around Dallas all season.
Even though it’s been season of potential derailments, with more likely to come, Colin thinks Dallas has the right quarterback to lead them through it. While Cam Newton is busy walking out of press conferences over harmless football questions, the even-tempered Prescott has managed to maintain his focus while facing far more media scrutiny than Cam.
Prescott has the quality that Colin values most in quarterbacks, he’s calm in crisis. It’s the reason Dallas has a chance to survive and make the playoffs when Elliott does eventually miss games. Cam can’t handle a press conference.
Rookie Lonzo is like rookie Jason Kidd
Lonzo Ball went scoreless last night, and has drawn criticism for his overall lack of consistent scoring. Many critics question if he’ll ever be able to effectively score with his limited athletic ability and weird looking shot.
Colin doesn’t see any reason to panic and thinks Lonzo is still definitely to be a star. He already sees a noticeable culture change in the Lakers with Ball running the point and compares his affect on the team, and limitations, to Jason Kidd when he was a rookie.
Kidd couldn’t shoot at all when he came into the league, but developed his shot throughout his career. His rookie stats were actually remarkably similar to Ball’s.
Lonzo needs to score more and he eventually will. It’s still early. There’s no need to panic.
