Belichick and Brady are going out together
New England pulled off a trade deadline shocker by sending Jimmy Garoppolo to the Niners, and Colin thinks the trade is also a clear message from Bill Belichick regarding his future plans.
By trading his quarterback of the future, it’s clear Belichick is on his way out and intends to hang it up whenever Brady decides to call it quits .
Even though Garoppolo would have been a solid replacement, Colin believes Belichick wasn’t willing to downgrade from best ever to just really good. It’s hard to stay at a Hilton once you’re used to staying at the Ritz.
Without Zeke, Dak needs to prove he can carry the Cowboys
Dak Prescott came out of nowhere last season to become the Cowboys’ franchise quarterback. Even though he exceeded all expectations of a late round draft pick, he’s been able to lean heavily on the running game with Ezekiel Elliott, and has never had the responsibility to carry the team by himself.
With Elliott facing a 6-game suspension, now it’s all on Dak to carry Dallas through a brutal late season schedule. If the Cowboys are going to make the playoffs, he’ll have to prove he can carry them. He hasn’t shown that he can to this point in his career.
