Bears picking Trubisky over Watson could end up an all-time draft miss
Colin has repeatedly ripped the Browns for passing on the chance to take Carson Wentz in the 2016 Draft, but today he pointed out that the Bears may have made an equally horrible decision when they selected Mitchell Trubisky with DeShaun Watson still on the board in the 2017 Draft.
Before the ’17 Draft, Colin repeatedly said Watson was the best QB on the board, and was never sold on Trubisky, who didn’t start at North Carolina until his senior year. If Watson picks up where he left off before injuring his knee during his rookie year, and plays at an MVP level, the Bears Trubisky pick could be on par with the Blazers taking Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan in the 1984 NBA Draft.
Andrew Luck will be good, not great, this season
Andrew Luck is finally healthy for the first time in forever, but Colin doesn’t expect him to immediately dominate after missing an entire season.
Colin noted that Michael Jordan struggled in his return to the Bulls after leaving to play baseball, and Tom Brady had an average return season after missing a year with a knee injury. He predicts Luck will have a solid year and be a borderline Pro Bowler in 2018, but it’s going to take a year to re-acclimate to playing QB in NFL.
