Aaron Rodgers is propping up an average Green Bay roster

Green Bay soundly beat the Bears last night, but when he was watching the game, Colin came away more convinced than ever that Aaron Rodgers is propping up an otherwise average roster.

Even though the Packers easily won the game, Colin thought the Bears had the better overall roster, unfortunately they just have terrible quarterback play. The Packers don’t have any notable pass rushers, and were using a converted wide receiver playing running back in Ty Montgomery. He went down last night, and they’re now down to their third string back.

The Packers will likely make the playoffs this year, but if they do, it’s only because of Rodgers. At this point, he’s propping up the entire team.

College basketball coaches’ silence over the recruiting scandal is deafening

A college coach finally addressed the college basketball recruiting scandal that has exposed the criminal scandal involving shoe companies and college coaches funneling top prospects to schools for cash.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t a college basketball coach, it was Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer. Meyer came out strongly against the conduct of coaches who flaunt the NCAA recruiting rules, and advocated for a zero tolerance for coaches who engage in such conduct, and a banning of coaches who get caught.

College hoops coaches haven’t made a peep about what is a massive problem in their sport, and it’s embarrassing. They can’t say what should be said because they’re still dependent on the shoe companies that are the biggest cash source for a sport that’s been declining for 20 years.
