Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are in an unhealthy relationship
The Packers shipped away Ty Montgomery for a 7th round pick at the trade deadline after he landed in Aaron Rodgers’ doghouse for fumbling a 4th quarter kick return against the Rams, instead of taking a knee and giving Rodgers a chance at a game-winning drive.
Colin agrees Montgomery screwed up, but the Packers shipping him out for next to nothing to satisfy Rodgers feels like a lopsided relationship, much like the Cavs exhausting themselves by trying to placate LeBron. Just like a schlub who lands a girlfriend that’s way out of his league and will do anything to keep her, Green Bay is more concerned about keeping Rodgers happy than doing what’s best for the organization. It’s a bad message to send.
