A dominant Warriors dynasty could keep more stars in small NBA markets
The NBA, and many of its fans feared that the Warriors adding Kevin Durant was unfair. Other than Cleveland, no one else has a chance to beat them, and if Golden State ends up dominating the playoffs and winning a championship, they could be set up to win several more titles and become the next NBA dynasty.
Colin thinks that a dominate Warriors team seems bad for league parity, but it may ultimately discourage players from leaving small market NBA teams because they know wherever they go, they don’t have a shot to win a title. If they can’t win a title, it makes no sense to leave and take considerably less money.
If they can’t win, at least they could keep their stars.
“If the Warriors destroy everybody, and they’re all still in their prime, why leave?”
A $500 basketball shoe isn’t as crazy as it sounds
The $500 ($495 plus tax) Big Baller Brand Zo2 has been torched on social media for its ridiculously high price tag, but Colin doesn’t think it’s as crazy as most. Even though the price seems high, sometimes the high price point can create demand within the market.
The reality is, many people think that if something is expensive it must be good. There is a possibility that the shoe could be a failure, but if it catches some momentum and takes off, all the big companies will be coming out with $500 shoes.
“Who wants the cheapest anything?”
