Mike Trout is the best five tool player in baseball again this year, and last night provided further evidence for his case when he threw out Dodger second baseman Max Muncy with a 98 mile per hour dart from centerfield in the bottom of the second.

You don’t get labeled the best player in baseball unless you also have a CANNON.

Here’s the science and stuff on how the baseball nerds clocked the sniper shot:

Mike Trout’s throw to the plate: 98.6 mph

Aroldis Chapman’s average fastball velocity: 97.8 mph

Another reason why Mike Trout is the best player in the game. Period.
