Barring injury, Deshaun Watson will be the sure-fire first pick in next year’s NFL draft. Barring a minor miracle, it looks like the Cleveland Browns will have that pick. The Browns have proved to be a graveyard for quarterbacks, littered with the forgettable headstones of Tim Couch, Spurgeon Wynn, and Jeff Garcia, to name a few.
Desperate times – like the possibility of getting drafted by the Browns – call for desperate measures, and Colin strongly believes that Watson’s best career move is to take a page out of the Eli Manning and John Elway playbook, and make it clear that he will never play a down in Cleveland, so don’t waste the pick.
“Depending on how great you are at your workplace, you’re gonna have more leverage. If I was Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Clemson Tigers, I would not play for the Browns. Cleveland is a mess.”
The Browns have burned through 25 quarterbacks in the 18 years since returning in 1999. To riff on Rick Pitino, Bernie Kosar’s not walking through that door, and if he does he’ll be old and gray. Will Deshaun Watson?
