The College Football Playoff Remains at 12 Teams…For Now

The College Football Playoff members failed to come to an agreement to expand the field so it will remain at 12 teams next season. They did make a few smaller changes and DP has the details.

Dan Patrick: “Recapping what happened, very quietly, college football couldn't come to an agreement, or the powers that be, to expand it to at least 16 teams, and it will stay at 12 teams this upcoming year. And I'll give you a little information, the ACC will fix its tiebreaker, so Miami would have been in its conference championship game. They'll fix that. Notre Dame is protected moving forward, if it's ranked in the top 12…But college football is staying at 12 teams for at least one year.”
