The Baltimore Ravens announced the hiring of Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as their next head coach on their official website and social media accounts Thursday (January 22).
Minter, 42, who had previously worked on the Ravens' staff under his predecessor John Harbaugh for four seasons, agreed to terms one day after his second in-person interview in Baltimore on Wednesday (January 21).
"I am truly honored to serve as the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens," Minter said. "This is an organization whose values, culture and tradition of excellence reflect everything I believe about the game of football and how it should be played."
Minter also had a second interview with the Las Vegas Raiders and was scheduled to interview with the AFC North Division rival Cleveland Browns before cancelling and accepting the Ravens' head coaching offer.
Minter spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, having followed head coach Jim Harbaugh from the University of Michigan, where he held the same position and won a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023. The 42-year-old had previously worked under Jim's brother John as a defensive assistant for the Ravens in 2017 and 2018 before being promoted to assistant defensive backs coach in 2019 and defensive backs coach in 2020.
