When the Redskins traded for Alex Smith, they effectively ended the Kirk Cousins era in Washington. Even though Colin doesn’t consider Cousins as an elite NFL QB, he does think there are several teams with solid rosters and bad quarterback play who Cousins could immediately help.
Even though many are saying that Cousins to the Jets is a possibility, Colin thinks the organization has been unstable and is still too early in rebuild process for Cousins when there are ready-made winners waiting in the wings. It’s just not a good organizational fit.
Colin believes the Jaguars, Vikings, Broncos and Cardinals are better options because they have above average overall rosters and are only lacking a serviceable QB. He gives the edge to Jaguars because he believes Tom Coughlin provides the most front office stability, long term.
As for the Vikings, they just made it to the NFC Championship Game with career backup Case Keenum. Upgrading to Cousins would instantly make their offense scary. Denver and Arizona have more roster questions, but would still be significantly quicker turnaround projects than the Jets.
Watch Colin give his Top 5 destinations for Cousins, and explain why the Jets are a bad fit.
