Today in The Herd, Colin continued his NFL preseason predictions by picking the AFC West.

Either the Broncos or Chiefs have won the West since 2010, but Colin thinks the Chargers are the team to beat in 2018. The Bolts have an elite QB in Philip Rivers, weapons at the skill positions, a monster pass rush and a workable early schedule. They finish on top at 11-5.

The Chiefs finish second at 9-7, and even with a solid roster, second year QB Pat Mahomes is still an unproven commodity and will have some growing pains. The Broncos (7-9) are pinning their hopes on newly signed quarterback Case Keenum repeating his career 2017 with the Vikings. Colin thinks Keenum will return to what he’s been for most of his career, average.

The Raiders finish last at 5-11 and struggle in the first year of the Gruden era. Colin isn’t sold that Gruden can hit the ground running after 10 years out of the game and Oakland still has huge holes on defense. Another lame duck year in Oakland doesn’t help either.
