Russell Westbrook needed 16 rebounds in his final regular season game against the tanking Grizzlies to clinch his second straight season averaging a triple double. He grabbed a career-high 20.
Westbrook recently rebutted claims that he pads his stats, but it’s hard to call his 20 rebound stat chasing performance anything other than that. At one point, he even boxed out teammate Carmelo Anthony to secure another board.
Colin has said Westbrook is one of the most talented players in the NBA, but it’s clear that he’s more into his stats than winning titles. The all-time greats like Bill Russell, MJ, and LeBron care more about W’s and winning titles than triple doubles. It’s one of the reasons Kevin Durant left for Golden State.
