Colin: Nothing about Matt Patricia says ‘NFL Head Coach’

The flip side of Sam Darnold’s incredible regular season debut on Monday Night Football was the equally unimpressive first game for Matt Patricia as Lions’ Head Coach in the 48-17 route.

It’s no secret that Colin has never been a fan of “backwards hat guy,” and Colin thought Patricia, with his backwards lid and disheveled appearance, just doesn’t look the part of an NFL head coach.

More problematically, he doesn’t coach like it, either.

The Lions’ sideline lacked energy and no one seemed to be communicating like successful coaches seem to do constantly with their teams to make necessary adjustments. The Belichick coaching tree has been a huge bust, and Colin doesn’t see Patricia breaking the trend. He looks like a soldier, not a general.

“In the last two games, Matt Patricia has been shredded by Nick Foles and the youngest rookie quarterback ever… You don’t want to look like a slob. Pencil, hat backwards. It’s not good enough.” — @ColinCowherd pic.twitter.com/eHsGB23ojj
