Starting with his three game suspension to due to his inaction in a domestic violence scandal involving former wide receivers coach Zach Smith, Urban Meyer’s 2018 season has been the most turbulent of his career. Even after returning from suspension, Meyer hasn’t looked – or coached – like himself, and despite the Buckeyes entering their game against Michigan with one loss and still having an outside shot at the playoff, many have speculated if Meyer will be finished after the season.

Today in The Herd, Colin discussed a number of coaching rumors, and said that he has heard directly from two well placed Ohio State sources that Meyer will indeed be finished in Columbus at the conclusion of the season. The reasons for hanging it up are partly due to health concerns and a fissure with the administration that was exacerbated during the fallout from the Smith situation.

In other college coaching news, Colin said he is hearing that Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly could draw significant interest from NFL teams this offseason that he would consider exiting South Bend to pursue.
