Don Nelson was a basketball lifer, spending five decades in the NBA as a player and coach. In retirement, however, Nellie has found a new  love….Marijuana.

During a press appearance ahead of a ceremony celebrating the Warriors 2006-7 team that took down the #1 seed Mavericks in the first  round, Nelson was asked what he’s been doing since leaving the game. His answer was simple: ‘I’ve been smoking some pot.’

Nellie is apparently good buds with Willie Nelson, so that pretty much tells you everything you need to know, other than why he’s dressed like a 1980’s wrestling manager.

He did clarify that he never smoked any ganja during his playing or coaching days, so apparently he’s making up for lost time. Some people play nine holes a day in retirement, Nellie smokes nine bowls a day.
