LaVar Ball shocked many when he pulled middle son LiAngelo Ball out of school at UCLA because he was unhappy with the punishment his son received after a shoplifting arrest during a team trip to China.
Yesterday, LiAngelo and appeared on The Today Show, with LaVar, and spoke publicly about the details of his arrest for the first time. The now-former Bruin drew criticism for his comments in the interview when he threw his former teammates Jalen Hill and Cody Riley under the bus by claiming they stole items first, and that he was only following their lead.
Today, Jason Whitlock stopped by The Herd, and blasted a hole in the Ball story by reporting that, acording to his sources, Ball’s statements on Today were a lie, and the real reason Gelo shoplifted was because his credit card was declined at the stores when he attempted to make a purchase. Whitlock also added that Ball was the only one of the players to steal from all 3 stores, which also contradicts his statement.
Maybe Ball do lie.
According to @WhitlockJason, LiAngelo Ball had his credit card declined which triggered the shoplifting incident in China. Of the three kids, only one of them shoplifted from all three stores: LiAngelo Ball. pic.twitter.com/x7oDCa98xx
