The Warriors have been rolling since the addition of Kevin Durant, but Steph Curry hasn’t been the dominant offensive force he was last season when he re-wrote the NBA record books on his way to winning the MVP.
To his credit, Curry has sacrificed some of his individual stats in the better interest of the team. Last night during the Warriors 107-95 win over the Heat, he tried to make his mark on the defensive end, and he almost lost his life for it.
With time winding down in the first quarter, Miami guard James Johnson dribbled the length of the court for the last shot. As he took the ball to the hole, he encountered Curry, who was waiting under the basket to take a charge.
Curry didn’t draw the charge, instead he got put on a poster by Johnson, who went almost completely horizontal for the vicious, outstretched throwdown.
People like to say Curry’s skills are like a video game. Last night, he looked like an unsuspecting defender from NBA Jam.
