Being on a NASCAR pit crew is a dangerous job. Most people don’t have to do their job while cars fly by them at 200 miles-per-hour with the constant threat of getting hit by a speeding car. Sometimes, accidents happen.
That’s exactly what happened to Zack Young, a jack man at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 over the weekend.
Young was preparing for his driver, Chris Buechler, to pit, when a fender bender sent the car spinning out of control into the pit area. Young got drilled by the incoming ride, and the whole thing was captured on a crew mate’s helmet cam.
Amazingly, he wasn’t seriously injured. It’s hard to believe after watching the video.

Young didn’t escape completely unscathed, but will be ready to go this weekend.
