Everyone who grew up in the snow dreaded receiving the marching orders from their parents to shovel the driveway. Shoveling snow meant you could kiss your afternoon goodbye while toiling away in a scene reminiscent of the Echo base on Hoth in Empire Strikes Back. Every kid hates it, and with good reason.
One ingenious kid from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin figured out an innovative way to knock out his shovel duty, and, in the process, make life easier for the snowbound youth across the world.
A video was posted online of 13 -year old Tanner Scherer using his hoverboard to effortlessly carve up his snowy driveway like a Zamboni after the second period of a Blackhawks game.
It’s nice to see someone come up with a practical application for one of the most obnoxious and annoying inventions of the 2000’s. It’s the first we’ve seen.
Scherer couldn’t be reached for comment for this story, but we’re guessing if he were, he would say, “You’re welcome.”
