Tiger Woods is sitting 7 shots off the lead after shooting an even par 72 in the first official round of his latest comeback at the Farmer’s Insurance Open, The 14-time major champion ran into some trouble, but also showed some flashes of the “Old Tiger,” including coming within inches of an ace on the Par 3 16th at Torrey Pines.
It’s only one round, and he didn’t set the course on fire, but something about this comeback seems more sustainable than the several failed bids over the last several years.
