It’s only the preseason, but no team wants to lose to a non-NBA team from Australia. That’s almost what happened to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their game against Melbourne United, yesterday.
The game was tied at 80 with four minutes to go and the Thunder forward Josh Huestis saved the team from potential embarrassment by rejecting two shots in the final six seconds to preserve the 86-85 win.
It’s not like OKC’s new Big 3 didn’t play minutes, either. Paul George played 39 minutes, Carmelo Anthony, 31, and Russell Westbrook, 28.
Watch how close Oklahoma City came to coughing one up to a team from down under.
