Retired Cubs’ World Series hero David Ross is a contestant on this season of Dancing with the Stars, a show I have never personally watched.
Ross was unable to be at Wrigley to receive his World Series ring because of his commitment to the show, but due to an extended rain delay at the home opener, his former teammates were able to cheer him on.
The Cubs put Ross’ performance live on the jumbotron, and the Cubs dugout was into it like a group of middle-aged housewives. So were the Wrigley faithful.
He may have scored a couple of extra votes thanks to the impromptu viewing party. That’s what happens when you’re an immortal Chicago baseball legend.
