For some reason, pictures of the future have always had flying cars. People can’t drive cars on the road, so finding the logic in the pursuit of making everyone airborne is difficult. It hasn’t stopped people from trying, and failing, for years.
The Kitty Hawk Flyer, created by Google co-founder Larry Page, may be the closest thing to a potentially mass marketable form of flying transportation. It’s basically a giant, manned drone, but it’s more functional than any past flying car efforts.
Is it a car? Is it a drone? Is a hot dog a sandwich? Decide for yourself and don’t @ me about it.
Page’s company, The Kitty Hawk group released a demo video of the Flyer, and even thought he video is super cheesy, the product looks good.
Wait until the first person falls off one of these, dies, and sues the company. Flying car chasing lawyers will be everywhere.
