Slovenian hockey player Ziga Jeglic is lucky he was only suspended from the IIHF World Championships for two games for kicking his opponent in the throat with his skate. A couple of inches either way, he could be looking at 10-15 years in prison.
During their game against Switzerland, several Slovenian players were ratpacking a Swiss player near their bench, when Jeglic attempted to kick the Swiss player in the throat with the blade of his skate. Luckily, he didn’t sever the guy’s jugular vein, which would have been a death sentence.
A two-game suspension is a gift for this clown.
