The best defensive play from last night’s Royals/Rays game wasn’t made by a major league ball player, it was made by the Tampa ball boy.
In his ball boy helmet, the teen climbed the ladder and stabbed a line drive foul ball down the third base line at full extension. His slick grab saved the Royals bullpen from taking a direct shot. No fans were really in danger, because no one goes to Rays games.
His quick reflexes even earned applause from Kansas City’s Salvador Perez, who hit the rocket.
The ball boy played the whole thing cool, and even handed the ball to a kid. Sign him up.
