The Eagles are Super Bowl champs thanks to head coach Doug Pederon’s fearless coaching, and a direct snap reverse pass to Nick Foles on fourth down that was unquestionably the defining play of the Super Bowl.
The play call was genius, but it was also a masterful troll job from Pederson and his staff. It turns out that the exact same play was run BY the Patriots against the Eagles in a Week 13 game in 2015.
Unlike New England’s attempted pass to Brady last night, this one actually worked and resulted in a 36-yard reception by the losing Super Bowl QB. With all the film NFL teams pour over, it’s hard to believe Philly running the same play is a coincidence.
The most shocking part of this is that Belichick didn’t see it coming. It look like the Genius got schooled on this one.
The Eagles “Trick” play was the call of the game…Here is the Patriots running the same Direct Snap Reverse “Trick” Play against the Eagles 2yrs ago… pic.twitter.com/fY28kPyXPj
