Michael Phelps racing a great white shark was all a lie. A dirty, filthy lie.
We didn’t exactly know how this would be a fraud, and the hype was kind of fun, but the entire thing amounted to Phelps strapping on a shark fin thing and racing in an open water course…by himself.
The shark’s time was estimated based on science or something and a graphic was overlaid to show the shark would have won. Michael Phelps wasn’t even eaten by the shark in the simulation, which would have definitely been the way to go here.
