Luis Guillorme hasn’t made it in the big leagues yet, but today he became an internet legend.
The Mets shortstop prospect showed off some ridiculous reflexes and huge cajones when a bat came flying toward the dugout in the bottom of the 1st inning of today’s game against the Blue Jays.
When Toronto batter Adeiny Hechavarria lost the handle on his lumber after a swing-and-miss strike, the projectile bat headed straight for the Mets dugout. While everyone around him scattered to avoid getting popped, Guillorme calmly hung onto the dugout rail and made a perfect one-handed stab on the bat without so much as flinching.
He also kept a robotic look on his face behind his shades which made the snag 10 times cooler.
