In the most anticipated Summer League debut in the history, Lonzo Ball stunk up the Thomas & Mack Center with a horrendous 2 of 15 shooting night – including 1 of 11 from three – in a 96-93 overtime loss to the Clippers.
Ball got off to a strong start by throwing a nice alley-oop to Brandon Ingram, but fell off a cliff as the game progressed. He finished with 5 points, 5 assists in 32 minutes. His shot looked bad.
It’s hard to draw broad conclusions from one bad outing, but it certainly wasn’t the debut Magic Johnson was hoping for. Ball and the Lakers will take on the rival Celtics tonight in front of another sold out crowd.
He’s got to play better than this.
