LeBron James hasn’t directly addressed the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving’s trade demand and subsequent move to Boston, until today at the Cleveland media day.
LBJ said he wasn’t upset about the trade, but wondered what facilitated the request, and if there was anything he could have done better to keep him.
He did, however, take, what some will interpret, as some verbal subtweets at Irving by calling him ‘kid’ when discussing their relationship. When it comes to taking passive aggressive shots, The King is The G.O.A.T.
James also said he learned of the trade from a third party, and did, in fact, have some dialogue with Irving when he learned of the trade request, but not after. He didn’t didn’t elaborate as to the nature of those communications.
