After finally closing the Kyrie Irving deal, GM Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics held a press conference to introduce Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward as the newest members of the Boston Celtics. Irving will ditch his #2 in favor of #11 with the Celtics. Hayward will continue to wear #20.
Irving spoke about joining the Celtics and why he felt he needed to take the next step in his career by moving on, but the most newsworthy part of the presser was when he was asked about his relationship with LeBron and if he had spoken to him since requesting the trade.
Irving said the two had not spoken, but was complimentary in speaking about what the two had accomplished together, and how much he had learned from James about what it takes to be a great NBA player. Ultimately, Irving said he was at peace with his decision to move on.
