Jon Lester is a three-time World Series champion and has pitched in the most pressure packed situations imaginable in professional baseball, but for some reason he just can’t throw to first base.
In an attempt to fix his yips, Lester and his coaches are working on what they’re calling a ‘Jordan to Pippen’ bounce pass to first to alleviate the anxiety. He tried it out for the first time in live action against the D-Backs and skipped it past the bag for an E1. We’re not sure where the ‘Jordan to Pippen’ thing came from, but this looks more like a D-Leaguer on a 10-day contract.
The mind of a major league baseball player is a weird and terrifying place. First base is all up inside Jon Lester’s head.
Jon Lester’s throws to first base are actually in mid-season form already. 😝 pic.twitter.com/Y4fmT2izXy
