Deion Sanders is from Fort Myers, but “Primetime” was born in Tallahassee, and before the Independence Bowl against Southern Miss, Deion took a minute to address the downtrodden 6-6 Seminoles with an impassioned locker room speech that reminded them of their rightful place in the college football hierarchy, and why they should be all in for new head coach Willie Taggart.
It’s not hard to see why Southern Miss didn’t have a shot in this one, despite getting Florida State at the finish line of their worst season in 50 years. Deion gets the guys ready to run through a wall for his former roommate, Taggart. Final score, 42-13.
