Dahntay Jones signed with the Cavs before the Playoffs to play about 2 minutes a game and hopefully pick up his second ring with the Cavs. For those that aren’t familiar with his work, Jones is basically a hockey goon with crazy ups.
In last night’s 116-105 win over the Raptors in Game 1 of the second round, Jones checked in for some fourth quarter mop up duty, and it didn’t last long.
He managed to get ejected in about 3 minutes on the floor after picking up two technicals for trash talking after a dunk. Impressive efficiency.
Dahntay Jones’s @cavs contract = $9K
Fine for 2 techs & an ejection in Game 1: $6K

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst pointed out that Jones was only paid $9,000 by the Cavs on the year, and the ejection fine would run him $6,000.

In the postgame press conference, LeBron said that he would cover the fine for Jones, saving him the loss of 2/3 of his salary. Good looking out.
