Marco Belinelli hit the buzzer beater of the year in the NBA. It didn’t count, but it’s still worth a watch.
With Charlotte trailing the Pistons 115-114, and a half second remaining in the game, Belinelli attempted to inbound the ball for the last shot. No one was open. Instead of catching a 5-second violation, Belinelli improvised.
Detroit’s Marcus Morris, who was guarding the inbound pass, turned his back to Belinelli, so he threw the ball off Morris’ back, collected the ball, and drained the would-be game winner.
It was waived off by the refs because the clock expired before the shot went down. It’s still an amazing play. Grazie, Marco.
