Verne Lundquist is a broadcasting legend. He’s done calling college football games, but is still working his magic at the NCAA Tournament. The latter is far more hazardous to the 76-year old’s health.
Lundquist was in the process of going through some prep during second-half warm ups of the West Virginia/Notre Dame second round matchup when a rogue basketball skipped the sideline and hit him directly in the face.
It hurts to watch because it’s like seeing your favorite uncle get clocked, but thankfully Lundquist is tough as nails and laughed it off.
You can hit Verne in the face, but you can’t knock the hustle.
Verne took a basketball off the noggin, but don’t worry, he’s still on the call. pic.twitter.com/k99S5cyEPr
