During last night’s IBF super middleweight title fight between Jose Uzcategui and Andre Dirrell, a flurry of late punches after the expiration of the 8th round bell earned Uzcategui a disqualification. He was previously warned for landing punches after the bell.
Despite the disqualification victory, Dirrell’s uncle, Leon Lawson, Jr. entered the ring, sought out Uzcategui, and clocked him with a cheap shot left hook that left Uzcategui dazed. Lawson was restrained, then vacated the arena.

As of this morning, Lawson has been formally charged by Prince George’s County, Maryland with 1st and 2nd degree assault charges, which carry maximum jail terms of 25 and 10 years respectively. He has yet to be arrested, according to reports.
