#1 overall pick Markelle Fultz had to had to be helped off the court after turning his ankle while contesting a drive to the basket during the third quarter of the Sixers’ Summer League game against the Warriors last night.
It was initially feared that the injury was extremely serious, but team doctors later diagnosed Fultz with a sprain, and will continue to evaluate his condition. His status for the remainder of the Summer League is unknown.
It’s good news for the Sixers, who’ve seen top picks Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid miss their entire first NBA seasons with injuries.
It looks like they dodged a bullet here.
