The Timberwolves are the most intriguing 5-11 team in the NBA. Minnesota’s new head coach Tom Thibodeau has struggled during the young season to find wins, but the individual talent on his roster is flashing in Vine form on a nightly basis with some incredible highlights.
Last night, the T’Wolves coughed up a heartbreaker to the Warriors,115-102, but in the process, Minnesota’s budding superstar Andrew Wiggins added JaVale McGee to the victim list with a nasty throwdown. Wiggins is a freak show. When do these young Wolves start winning some games Coach Tibs?
One night earlier, Minny guard Zach LaVine threw down in a similar fashion on Phoenix big man Alex Len. Ouch.
Oh, and the Wolves have the best young player in the NBA in Karl-Anthony Towns, too. Don’t be shocked if they try to add some veteran experience at the trade deadline to pair with their young stars. Do they opt to trade point guard Ricky Rubio in favor of LaVine, who had 31 last night, and rookie point guard Kris Dunn, who only logged 9 minutes?
Something needs to be done, and they have assets. They need some wins to go along with their nightly highlight reel of vicious dunks. Playoff hopes die quickly in the Western Conference.
