In his 16-year NFL career, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith has amassed Hall of Fame numbers. His formal retirement letter to Roger Goodell and the NFL should probably be in Canton, too.
In true Smith fashion, his farewell to the league was brief, but hilarious.
The letter, posted to his personal Twitter account today, is dated January 2nd. It states, in part, “I, Steve Smith, Sr., will no longer be antagonizing defensive backs. I am retiring from the NFL.”
Ice up, Goodell.

Here are some highlights from Smith’s 16-year career. It’s always sad to see the great players leave the game, but losing one of the game’s greatest personalities makes it even worse. Unless you’re an NFL defensive back.
"Thanks for coming here, forever grateful." #FarewellAgent89
