DeMarcus Cousins has a reputation as being hard to get along with. While Boogie doesn’t have any love for local beat writers, it looks like he really, really likes Joel Embiid.
In Sacramento’s 102-100 win over the Sixers last night, Cousins felt the best way to express his admiration for the up and coming Embiid was by slapping him approvingly on the butt as they ran up the court. Embiid returned the friendly slap in kind. Cousins and Embiid then each got in another hearty whack to cement their friendship.
These two are the NBA version of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in Step Brothers.
To Embiid’s credit, he has been a freak show in his first full NBA season. In last night’s game, the 7’0″ Philly center intercepted a pass, drove the length of the court, and finished with a dunk form one step inside the free throw line.
It’s not hard to see why Cousins is smitten.
THROW IT DOWN BIG FELLA!
