Every Monday, it’s time for Colin to bask in the glory of some of his predictions that hit, and face the music on some of his biggest misfires from the weekend.
The predictions were flying ahead of College Football Week 2 and NFL Week 1. He had some big hits and some notable misses, but he still had a better weekend than CM Punk.
Here’s Where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong.
Where Colin was Right.
The Bills signing Tyrod Taylor to a massive contract in August was as dumb as it looked.
Tyrod Taylor was awful for the Bills on Sunday. 111 yards passing and 7 points is not gonna get it done. Good thing you locked up an undersized quarterback who’s bad from the pocket long term! It’s only Week 1, but Colin is calling it a hit. Fool me once with Ryan Fitzpatrick, shame on you. Fool me twice, you’re the Bills or the Browns.
Where Colin was Wrong
CM Punk got Fight Club’ed.
CM Punk took a beating that should have taken place at the bike rack behind an elementary school, not an octagon. CM showed guts, but he also showed a detached retina. After the fight, Punk said “Go big, or go home.” It might be time to rethink this whole MMA thing. At least come to the next fight with a fresh stash of white towels.

The Autumn wind is a Raider again.
Colin has them winning the AFC West. They’re young, but he loves what he sees in David Carr. He throws the ball down the field and oozes leadership qualities. The game winning two-point conversion in New Orleans is exactly what you want to see in a young, improving team. They’re loaded with top level talent at all the key positions.
It’s Victory Monday, #RaiderNation.
This two-point conversion in the game’s final minute made it happen. https://t.co/XqEBzrXDXW

Clemson has been awful
The TIgers could be 0 – 2. They’ve been escaping when they should be dominating. They survived a mediocre Auburn team, and almost lost to a feisty Troy this weekend. Deshaun Watson, everyone’s surefire #1 pick, is barely completing 50% of his passes and looks like he’s regressed against inferior competition. Even if Watson can get right, Clemson doesn’t look nearly as imposing as they did a year ago. Colin was wrong. Sorry Dabo.

Where Colin was Right.
Ryan Tannehill is no Andrew Luck.
He’s not a winning quarterback. He took a sack to end the game against the Seahawks that was the capper on a Keystone Cops clock management sequence where he was unaware the clock was still running. There is no other reasonable position on this topic. Andrew Luck throws the ball down the field and does it with a considerably weaker supporting cast. He threw for 380 in his loss, which can be heavily laid at the feet of an invisible defense.
Andrew Luck in the groove…
More of the same when you come to ?? please!#DETvsIND https://t.co/SGq95GZst4

Colin’s NFL Week 1 Blazin’ 5
2 -3 for Week 1. There’s no harder week to pick. Obviously gonna crush Week 2. Nailed Tampa and the Giants. Swallowed a big number with Seattle and regretted it. Jay Cutler left Bears heavies sulking like Jay Cutler, and Cincy was a tough beat. Big comeback week ahead.
Where Colin was Right.
More players took a knee and the world didn’t end.
Just accept that players are going to continue to have opinions. There’s no need to give yourself a stroke over it. Arian Foster and other Dolphins joined the protest and knelt before the national anthem on Sunday. After the game, Foster commented, “If kneeling before your flag is disrespectful, then kneeling for your God is disrespectful.”
No need to freak out. Take a nerve pill grandpa.

Where Colin was Wrong.
Brock Osweiler was impressive with the Texans.
Colin has been hard on Osweiler, but he looked solid yesterday. The Texans may have found a gem in rookie wideout Will Fuller to pair alongside Nuke Hopkins. The eye test doesn’t lie, and he passed it in his first game with Houston. Colin is taking the L on this one.
