If you’re going to propose to your girlfriend at a professional sporting event, it’s probably best to know she’s going to say yes.
One Red Sox fan learned this lesson the hard way when he crashed and burned during his marriage proposal on the scoreboard at Fenway Park during last night’s game against the Cubs. The camera reportedly cut away once it was clear a magic moment wasn’t coming.
There isn’t video of the actual proposal, but some people in attendance at the game tweeted out what they saw:
At the Red Sox game and a marriage proposal came across the big screen and the girl said no. Feel so bad for the dude but still so funny

Just saw my first “no” answer to a proposal at the Red Sox game

Even though the footage of the rejection hasn’t surfaced yet, one fan captured what is believed to be the aftermath of the couple arguing after the denial. The jumbotron cameraman standing next to them was caught in the middle of the extreme awkwardness.
Ouch! You have to feel bad for the guy, but don’t be a chump and propose at a sporting event.
This guy just proposed at Fenway on camera. She said no. Now they are arguing. That poor camera man pic.twitter.com/N9m8nOIXKH
