The Celtics should trade for Kristaps Porzingis

Phil Jackson is getting killed on social media following news leaking that he is open to entertaining offers for budding superstar Kristaps Porzingis. Contrary to the majority opinion, Colin thinks the trade could be the best thing to happen to the Knicks in a long time.

Porzingis could command a ransom in trade, but for a star hungry team like the Celtics, loaded with assets, it’s time to pull the trigger. If the Knicks could get two starters and multiple first round picks in exchange, they would have a chance to upgrade one of the worst rosters in the league.

If Boston adds Porzingis and Gordon Hayward, they would have a real chance to contend in the East.

You’re going about it the wrong way if you’re falling in love with Kristaps Porzingis. I like him, I don’t love him.”

After firing the GM, Dan Gilbert needs to land a star, or else

The news of the Cavs parting ways with GM David Griffin in the midst of furiously trying to secure deals to land either Paul George or Jimmy Butler caught everyone by surprise. According to reports, Griffin wanted more money and control than Gilbert was willing to pay or relinquish.

LeBron James was reportedly not consulted over the Griffin move, and sent a thinly veiled subtweet in Gilbert’s direction, thanking Griffin for his efforts and offering his appreciation.

It appears that the firing shouldn’t prevent the Cavs from continuing to pursue deals in the near term, but if they miss out on major upgrades because of the turmoil, it opens the door wider for LeBron to leave after next season.
