The biggest winner after Lonzo Ball’s bad debut is Cleveland

Lonzo Ball’s much anticipated NBA debut was a flop. Ball only managed three points and got physically bullied by Clippers’ guard Patrick Beverley. Colin was bullish about the future of the Lakers before the season started, but after seeing them in a real game, they failed the eye test in every possible way.

The biggest winner of the night was the City of Cleveland, because there’s no way LeBron is leaving the Cavs to go play with the Lakers’ rebuilding project that isn’t going to be anywhere close to resembling a contender by the time he hits free agency this Summer.

Derek Carr has late game “it” factor

Derek Carr tossed a touchdown pass as time expired to lead the Raiders to a last second win against the rival Chiefs, again proving that he has a special type of late game leadership that can’t be learned. It was his NFL leading 13th 4th quarter comeback in 3 years, and the latest evidence that Carr is a magician in the clutch.

Colin thinks great clutch quarterbacks innately have “it” at the end of games, or they don’t. Even though it’s hard to quantify in the draft evaluation process, it’s easy to see once they play in the NFL. It’s clear to anyone who watches Carr late in a close game, that he is overflowing with the late game “it” factor.
