Stop making excuses for Rick Pitino
The NCAA has come down hard on Louisville with sanctions resulting from a recruiting scandal that involved recruiting tactics that included funneling recruits to strippers. Louisville has been stripped of its 2013 national championship, and head coach Rick Pitino has been suspended for the first 5 ACC games of the upcoming season.
Some have rushed to Pitino’s defense, claiming there is no way he could know about everything going on with every kid on his team. Colin disagrees. He thinks it’s reasonable to assume Pitino wouldn’t know if the starting point guard broke up with his girlfriend, but if there’s an on campus brothel for prospective recruits, there’s no way he couldn’t.
There’s giving someone the benefit of the doubt, then there’s willful ignorance. Excusing Pitino is the latter.

LeBron James to the Lakers won’t happen
The rumors have been flying about a LeBron James possibly leaving Cleveland for the Lakers, but Colin says it’s not happening, for a number of reasons.
LeBron isn’t going anywhere he can’t compete for a title immediately, and although LeBron could more than likely carry the Sixers to the Finals in the East, that’s not happening out West with the Warriors. The Lakers roster is filled with C+ players and bad contracts. Even if they add Lonzo Ball or another high draft pick, it’s still a lengthy rebuild.
Even if Paul George joins James in Lakerland, it won’t be enough to contend. LeBron James isn’t going to the Lakers, despite what the interweb says. Not. Happening.
