Sam Darnold would be better off staying in school than going to the Jets or Browns
The Jets are shedding veterans and committing to the tanking life for the 2017 NFL season. With the grand prize of USC’s Sam Darnold or UCLA’s Josh Rosen waiting at the top of the draft, the race to the bottom in the NFL in 2017 is going to be intense, and the only way there is by throwing in the towel before the season begins.
Today, Colin said that the culture of a team that is actively engaged in not being competitive is a toxic destination for an NFL rookie quarterback, and the Browns and Jets are entering the season with weak rosters, no answers at quarterback, and have shown no urgency to pursue viable short term solutions.
Colin’s advice to Darnold or Rosen if the Browns or Jets are sitting at the top of the draft? Stay in school.
“If I’m Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold and the two worst teams in the league next year are the Jets and Browns, I’m staying in school.”
Lonzo Ball will transform the Lakers
Lonzo Ball held his private workout for the Lakers today, and even though Magic Johnson has recently made statements that the Lakers aren’t sold on drafting Ball with the second pick, Colin thinks its all a bad smoke screen.
Colin predicts Ball will be an upgrade for the Lakers at the point, but his biggest will come from re-establishing the glamour of the Showtime culture and add commercial appeal to a franchise that has lacked any star power since Kobe retired.
The Lakers can say it’s not happening, but it makes too much sense to pass up on the obvious choice.
“Lonzo Ball. He is the Kardasian of basketball.”
