Kevin Durant and the Warriors drilled Russell Westbrook and the Thunder last night, in his first game against his former team. Colin thinks the game was evidence that Durant made the right decision, despite what the critics said when he left for the Warriors. He’s always in favor of players leaving to go to better situations, or play with better players. Durant is far better off playing with Golden State and a more talented supporting cast than he is playing with a ball dominating point guard like Westbrook.
“If a city burns a jersey when you leave town, it was the right move.”
Warriors/Thunder, a regular season NBA game, was the must watch sporting event last night, which is remarkable considering an NFL game was on TV. The NFL’s Thursday night games aren’t intriguing and have become an afterthought. The Thursday night game usually features two teams who haven’t had time to recover from the previous week, and the product is unwatchable. The NFL is making a mistake by assuming fans will consume it, even if it doesn’t offer a quality product. It’s bad business, regardless of the popularity of the league.
“The NBA last night, gave me Steph, KD, Westbrook, Draymond, Klay. Charles Barkley, Shaq and KG on TV. The NFL gave me the Bucs.”
LSU plays Alabama this weekend, and Colin thinks the Tigers should hire interim head coach Ed Orgeron as their full-time coach. He’s usually not in favor of promoting assistants, but Orgeron is the perfect fit for the team and the university. The young, hip, slick, well-spoken coaches are always the hot coaching prospects. Orgeron is none of those, but he’s perfect for LSU.
“Nobody gets LSU like Ed Orgeron. Nobody. He is LSU. He feels like LSU. He sounds like LSU.”
Also, Colin releases a scorching hot Week 9 NFL Blazin’ 5, and lets you know what games he’ll be watching this weekend.
